An Austin Healey Sprite Mark 1 that has had quite a history.
In 1998, Petros purchased a bright yellow car. It had a red roof, and didn’t behave like a typical car. It was static and was a haven for Hornets nests.
Mrs and Mrs Johnson from Franklin County, Virginia, USA weren’t too worried to see it go. They wouldn’t recognise that little car now. What a journey its had. Starting its life in the Abingdon BMC factory in the UK, in August 1960, and now returned to the UK after more than sixty years as an American.
Here we pay a little tribute to a great British product, the fantastic achievement by Petros to restore it so brilliantly, and the friendship that has led to its subsequent repatriation back to the UK.
