Journey

Patiently we waited for the completion of the ten week journey between California and Essex.

An exciting text message. She’s on her way.

Leaving on the first leg of the adventure back to the UK. Take it steady!

Formalities completed at the port with confirmation photos being sent through by the shipping company.

The partially restored hardtop temporarily fitted into place with glazing provided by plastic film and blue tape.

Two months later to our surprise we received an “arrival notice”. Surprised, as the vessel tracker has indicated the ship was in Valencia. Garage ready!

Delighted and excited again, phone calls and further documentation required by HMRC to get the NOVA and the Customs release papers. Within a few days we had completed the formalities and arranged for the final leg of the trip, Harwich to Kirkbrook. The 21st October was cloudy and rainy, foul weather. The car arrived at lunchtime bedraggled and looking a bit sad.

On a wet Wednesday 21st October 2020, Frogeye eventually arrived at Kirkbrook.

Over the next few days in much better weather, after a jolly good dry out, a clean, polish and a checkup from an Austin Expert (Tim) all resulted in Frogeye looking splendid again, and ready for a new adventure.

Back to looking pristine and well looked after. Rorie checking the comfort levels.

Christmas came early, unwrapping the goodies delivered in the boot. Parts and spares to help us along the way
